1. CONSULTATION FOR INVISALIGN TREATMENT

While Invisalign®  aligners are a great way to get the benefits of braces without the need for braces to be affixed to each tooth, it is important that patients realize that not everyone is a good candidate for it.  Our board certified Orthodontists will help you decide if Invisalign aligners will provide you with straight teeth for a lifetime.

If your dentist approves you for using Invisalign aligners, you will be digitally scanned for a series of aligners that fit comfortably over your teeth.  Contrary to traditional braces, Invisalign treatment patients do not usually experience the initial mouth discomfort when they are worn.  When your aligners are made, you will be provided with sets that are worn for approximately two weeks each, before switching to the next set.

2. SWITCHING ALIGNERS

As you progress through each set of aligners, there will be regular visits to our office to make sure that your teeth are progressing accordingly.  Treatment time can last between 9 and 15 months with visits about every 8 weeks.  As aligners are switched, they incrementally put more pressure on your teeth in order to bring them into alignment.

Fortunately, throughout the whole treatment, you can still remove the aligners to eat, drink, brush, and floss.

3. COMPLETION OF TREATMENT

Once you have moved through all of your aligners and your teeth have become straightened, your Orthodontist will help you transition to a period of maintaining the straightness and health of your smile.  As with all procedures, it is extremely important that you follow the Orthodontist’s recommendations for continued care in order to make sure that your teeth do not begin reverting to their old state.

With Invisalign aligners, you will continue to see improvement in your smile from week to week until you achieve the wonderful end result: a smile that you can be confident with.
